Testimonials

What helped you decide to start therapy?

I was struggling to live the life I wanted. The difference between before and after the injury was very difficult for me, and interfered with the live I wanted to live, and the career I was determined to resume.

Was therapy how you expected it to be?

Harder than I expected, but more effective. Learning how to be at peace with the defects, as part of who I am rather than constantly (my condition) was a very tough adjustment but one that has changed how I view my life.

What did you value about the sessions?

Learning through doing was very helpful for me. Changing actions one step at a time, until I found myself thinking that way unconsciously, was much better than just talking. Having a model where I spent a week or two weeks putting into practice what we had discussed, and then we reviewed the progress at the next meeting gave me time to properly feel out what was working for me, and what was more challenging. It’s a small detail, but getting the video link the night before, or the morning of the session, rather than a long time in advance, meant that I didn’t lose it in my inbox and was useful.

Were there any particular benefits of having sessions via video call?

My job moves around a lot, and this meant I could continue therapy wherever I was. Booking in blocks of 3 was also useful, as someone in a job where I often don’t know where I will be in a month’s time. Being able to see my therapist, rather than a voice on the end of the phone, helped me to establish a relationship more easily, and I felt I trusted her more than I think I would have done over a phone call.

What helped you decide to start therapy?

After a very short space of time I found that I was able to tell Doctor Morgan things that I don’t think I had even admitted to myself.

Was therapy how you expected it to be?

No it wasn’t, it was far better than I had anticipated. Doctor Morgan has seemingly endless patience and took a lot of time teasing out what were the real problems then helping me to address them and acknowledge them.

What did you value about the sessions?

Some of the things I valued the most about the sessions where after a very short space of time I found that I was able to tell Doctor Morgan things that I don’t think I had even admitted to myself.

Were there any particular benefits of having sessions via video call?

I will admit that I was sceptical of doing consultations by video call but after the first session it didn’t seem a problem at all and of course by doing consultations by video there’s no driving to appointments.

What helped you decide to start therapy?

My GP advised me to seek therapy; a family member recommended you highly from past experience of dealing with you.

Was therapy how you expected it to be?

I should think one is always apprehensive before deciding to opt for therapy sessions. My apprehension was relieved as soon as our introductory session was completed. I felt totally assured by the calm and sympathetic approach offered by you and the subsequent sessions exceeded my expectations.

What did you value about the sessions?

I valued how my particular issues were listened to sympathetically and how the skills given to me to deal with those issues were explained and re explained with such tolerance and patience. I believe I have learned a new life skill. The sessions did not feel like therapy, they felt more like sound advice from a good friend.

Were there any particular benefits of having sessions via video call?

Yes; it suited me to be able to procure the sessions without the hassle of travel; also the sessions were always at the precise times planned in advance.
