Your Life, Your Way.
Psychological therapy for people with long-term physical health conditions
My name is Dr Lisa Morgan, Clinical Psychologist. I’ve been working to support people who live with long-term physical health conditions (LTCs), since 2004 in psychology training roles, and since 2011 as a qualified Clinical Psychologist. If you are living with one or more LTC, and aspects of life are feeling difficult, I may be able to help you.

Can you relate to any of these common health-related experiences?

Difficulty accepting a condition is part of your life and worrying about the future

Struggling to adjust to deteriorating health.

You're unable to work through difficult experiences of receiving healthcare.

The effect of the condition/s on your sense of your identity, your roles at work or home, and relationships.

Parenting whilst living with health problems.

Feeling misunderstood or misbelieved about your health condition/s, especially where some symptoms may not be visible to others

Loss of confidence because of withdrawing socially in response to health problems

Past or present difficult experiences in your life that have their own impact and make it harder to also handle the medical condition/s as well. Difficulties such as anxiety (including panic, generalised anxiety and OCD), depression, stress, low self-esteem, grief, trauma or relationship problems.

Online Therapy Appointments
Once we’ve had a disussion and I’ve received your referral form you will be invited to make an appointment for Assessment and therapy.
Online Appointments To Fit Around You
I offer assessment and therapy by video call; from the comfort of your own home or other confidential space. As well as clients typically finding this more convenient, this allows many people with LTCs to conserve much needed energy otherwise used for travel to appointments. It also allows for other demands of your day to be met with less disruption. Research has shown video-based therapy can show very positive results, akin to what is possible when seeing a client in person. For clients who have a strong preference for telephone appointments rather than video calls, this can be arranged as an alternative.
